Vincenzo Ventimiglia
Vincenzo Ventimiglia was born in Cinisi near Palermo (Italy). He graduated in Sculpture at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts in 1991 and currently lives and works between Florence and Paris. He is particularly active as Art teacher and cultural manager: he organizes and curates exhibitions, edits catalogues, attends conferences and is member of the jury for several awards and scholarships. From 1995 to 1997 he worked for the Tuscany Region professional courses; since 1998, he is Sculpture professor at the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, and starting from 2007 he also teaches in the Visual Arts and New Expressive Media experimental two-year course. For six years running he was Academic Council Member and vice Director. Ventimiglia is holding courses in Hangzhou, upon invitation of The China Academy of Art. As an artist, he constantly explores the means of expression in sculpture, carrying on formal experimentations. In his recent creations, symbolic or conceptual features are predominant. His works can be found both in private and public collections.
