Charity Auction of Contemporary Artworks
Following the latest developments as regards the spreading of Coronavirus in Italy, the Charity Dinner The heart of Florence - Together for China, promoted by the network “The Heart of Florence”, together with Zhong Art International, originally due on march 15th at Palazzo Vecchio, has been postponed to a date to be determined, by common decision of the People’s Republic of China Consulate in Florence and the Florence Municipality.
To the present, the intention of organising the dinner remains, whenever the health situation will allow it, and in compliance with general security rules.
Therefore, the invitation to take part to the Charity Auction of Contemporary Artworks has not changed: artists of all nationalities and training are welcome to contribute, offering their works. The call for participation is particularly addressed to the main Italian Art Schools and Academies, for them to fully inform their students and teachers.
According to developments, the organisers will consider whether the auction could be moved on line or postponed in conjunction with the dinner.
The purpose of this event is collecting funds to purchase medical supplies to be shipped to China. At the same time, with this initiative the city of Florence, linked to China by a long-lasting friendship, wishes to transmit a strong message of closeness and sympathy.
The network “The Heart of Florence” which started the solidarity project, carrying out annual events to fulfil important targets connected with social welfare and health safeguard, includes most of the ancient charitable institutions of Florence, showing the natural generosity of the Florentine people: Arciconfraternita della Misericordia di Firenze, Montedomini, Compagnia del Bigallo, Fondazione Santa Maria Nuova ONLUS and Istituto degli Innocenti.
Zhong Art International, has been working since 2013, from its Florence and Beijing headquarters, with the aim of diffusing Chinese artistic and cultural heritage in Italy, and promoting Italian culture and heritage in China, through a constant exchange between the two countries, geographically far apart but close in spirit. This organisation is committed in the fields of Art, Education, and it is fostering strategic and trade relationships with the aim of strengthening the cultural bridge between the two countries.
